Romancing the Sale: How to Build and
Maintain Highly Profitable Customer Relationships that Last
“Here's How to Turn Your Prospects Into Lifelong Business
Partners...”
I'll show you exactly how to develop a relationship with your
customers that will keep them coming to you over and over again for
your products and services -- and you don't have to be afraid of
rejection ever again... If you are new to marketing and have no
sales background, or you are a seasoned salesman in need of a
powerful, but easy-read refresher this is the book for you. If you
are a team leader or business manager, read it and then recommend it
to your team. Your customer is the heart and soul of your business.
Why not learn to make that customer feel like the love of your life?
Imagine never worrying about what to say or being afraid of making
your prospect mad. What is it worth to you and your business to have
customers who can’t wait to hear from you?
Dear Friend and
Fellow Marketer,
When I first started out in my business, there were certain
things I absolutely HATED to do.
I hated the process of trying to find customers or new team
members. I didn't want them to feel the only reason I was talking to
them was because I wanted to make a sale.
Then one day it hit me. The ONLY reason I'm talking to them is
because I want to make a sale. DUH!
That doesn't mean I want to cheat them, use them or take
advantage of them. It just means I have a service and I want them to
buy it.
Even if they don’t buy something, I want to develop a
relationship with them so that we can help each other grow our
businesses. I’ve made friends all over the world and those
connections are priceless to me as a person, not just as a woman in
business.
So my mind jumped to dating. I know, a strange leap, but what can
I say?
When you go out with someone, there is an underlying motive. You
may be looking for a one-night stand, or you may be looking for your
future life partner.
There's a lot of similarity in how you build a relationship with
a potential mate and how you build one with a potential customer.
• You're going to put your best foot forward - no burping or
other bodily functions at the table, please.
• You're going to find out everything you can about the other
person. You'll either be fascinated or decide not to go for a second
date.
• You're going to find out what you have in common and use that
as a basis to grow closer.
• There's got to be an initial attraction or the relationship is
going nowhere.
• You look for signs as to when you should make your first
"move."
• Becoming "committed" to each other involves specific ground
rules; what you each bring to the relationship and what you can and
cannot do.
• Communication remains at the heart of the relationship.
Do you see what I mean?
As this idea started to solidify in my brain and then in my
business, I started thinking of my customer relationships as
"Romancing the Sale." I started treating each phase of the sales
process as if it was a courtship.
Not only has this been helpful for me, but framing the ideas in
this way has made it easier for my clients to see where they are and
where they need to go as they build their customer relationships.
Coming from this angle of "dating your customer" changes every
aspect of building a business from first contact, to knowing when
and how to put your offer in front of someone, to follow up emails,
and future sales.
I took many of these fundamental business principles and how-to's
and created a dating manual -- Romancing The Sale: How to Build and
Maintain Highly Profitable Customer Relationships That Last!
Then I threw in thirty years of experience in applying
educational psychology and developing relationships.
The result is a handbook for salespeople to follow which will
guide them through that first encounter to closing the sale and then
closing another sale and another - all with the same person. Once
you read it, apply what you learn to your phone calls, ad copy, and
email drips. I'll show you exactly what to do and why. What you'll
find is that it's not as hard as you think.
Romancing the Sale: How to Build and Maintain Highly Profitable
Customer Relationships That Last!

How do you know if this book is for you? Well...
Do you go NUTS when people don't do what they say they're going
to do?
Are you tired of hand holding all the time and never getting to
first base?
Do you find yourself volunteering to clean out the toilet just so
you can put off making your follow up phone calls?
Do you secretly fear you'll run out of energy or money before
your business starts to show the results you want?
If so, I'd say you are definitely a good candidate to read this
book. And you're not alone. These are some of the concerns I hear
over and over again.
I will help you conduct your business in such a way that you
can:
• know exactly which prospects will be a one night stand and
which will be lifelong partners
• read customers’ minds - from verbal clues alone
• time your offer for the maximum score
• avoid customers who just want to "use" you
• turn an angry customer into your biggest fan
• attract customers you enjoy working with
• and much more...
How to Find Out Everything You Need to Know About Your Customer
in 15 minutes or less...
The Easiest, Fastest and Cheapest Way to Build Relationships
I used to worry about how to make a sales pitch or bring up my
business opportunity without having the phone slammed in my ear.
I was finally attracting prospects to my list, but I didn't know
what to do with them now that I had them. I was afraid of bothering
them, taking up their time, irritating them, or Worst of All,
looking like an idiot.
Here's how I got around all that and the answer is deceptively
simple:
I let them TALK.
Have you ever had someone say, "Hi, how are you?" and then
immediately start talking about themselves? They weren't really
interested in how you were, it was just an opening for them to be
able to talk about themselves.
People are DYING to talk about themselves...their challenges,
their disappointments, their hopes, their dreams...but very few are
willing to listen. Really listen.
Try this. The next time you meet up with a friend or
acquaintance, ask them how they are. They'll probably answer with a
glib "I'm fine" or "I've been better" and then move on to something
else.
Stop them and say, "No, I mean how ARE you, really?" Ask them
something specific like "How are you holding up after your dad's
illness?" Or, “How is the new boss working out?”
I guarantee, once they get it that you actually want to know,
they'll talk your ear off.
Do this with your customers. Instead of talking about yourself
and your business, ask them about theirs. It may take you a couple
of tries before they get it that this is really going to be
about them.
Then sit back, take notes, and let them talk.
Inside of 15 minutes they will have given you all the
information you need as to whether they are a good candidate for
your team or product line, how you can address their needs, and what
you need to do to make that sale happen.
Best of all, you will have no worries about rejection or making
them mad. Who in the world is going to object to having someone else
genuinely CARE about them?
By the time you get off the call, you will have given so much
value by simply listening; they’ll think you’re a genius.
The Risk is on Me

I'll even take all the risk. If you buy the book and
decide it doesn't give you the plan and focus you need to
immediately start building your relationships with customers, I'll
give you your money back...with a smile.
You'll have 30 days to read it, use it and decide if the
information inside is for you. At the end of the thirty days, let me
know if you were not satisfied and get your money back.
And, if you order now, you'll get a bonus - you'll get the audio
version of the book which you can download onto your MP3 player or
burn to a CD and listen in your car.
I may package this by itself and sell it for $39, but it's yours
for free while this offer lasts.
What Do Business Leaders Know that You Don't?
I created
another bonus as a special thank you to those of you buying
Romancing the Sale.
I interviewed four of the top business people and got them to
share what it is they know about building and maintaining customer
relationships.
Hear Mike Dillard, Mike Klingler, Christian Mickelsen and Ann
Sieg share their ideas about building relationships and creating
that all important rapport even though they deal with hundreds of
thousands of customers.
These audio downloads alone are easily worth $97 each, but I
wanted you to have it so that you can picture yourself being
interviewed in the not so far off future.
So, you have my no questions asked, 30 day moneyback guarantee,
the audio version of the book worth $39, and the Biz Leader
interview series worth $388.
That's $427 worth of free stuff, even if you decide not to keep
the book.

Here's What Other People Are Saying about Romancing the
Sale...
In "Romancing the Sale" you'll learn what it takes to generate
sales in a natural and comfortable way...

|
|
Barbara Silva is an exceptional educator who stands
out in a crowd of gifted students and coaches I've had
the privilege to get to know. Within just the last year
alone, over 20,000 people passed through one of my
business coaching programs. This puts me in a unique
position to meet a lot of talented people--both students
and colleagues who possess a unique talent for teaching
others business development strategies. To be truly
exceptional, an educator doesn't just need an intimate
understanding of the principles they teach, but they
must also be able to share things in a way so others can
grasp new concepts, and so they can apply them to their
own life and business successfully. Barbara is a shining
example of such an educator who possesses that unique
ability to get people to the next level in business. I
continue to refer my own students to Barbara's resources
because I get nothing but rave reviews when I do, and I
see those students move forward when they follow
through. If you're ready to learn what it takes to
succeed, I highly recommend you study every resource
Barbara has to offer, starting with her new book,
"Romancing the Sale." You'll learn what it takes to
generate sales in a natural and comfortable way, by
giving real substance just like Barbara Silva does in
her business.

...the official “how-to” approach for working with other people

|
|
Romancing the Sale: How to Build and Maintain Highly
Profitable Customer Relationships that Last has my
highest recommendation. And here is my reason why:
Romancing the Sale picks up where must-read, industry
standards such as The Renegade Network Marketer and
Magnetic Sponsoring left off.
Furthermore, Romancing the Sale takes Black Belt
Recruiting one step further. Simply put, it will change
or assist the way you deal with customers, and how you
feel about building (or not building) customer
relationships.
Romancing the Sale is a how-to manual centered around
the real work of relationship building in your business.
Romancing the Sale represents an effective and
efficient way to practice and approach your customers
and potential clients.
Barbara Silva does this by using a single metaphor
throughout her book, comparing this important aspect of
your business to dating.
This makes Romancing the Sale unique and fun to read,
not to mention easy to understand, yet profound in it’s
potential impact for business owners.
I found Romancing the Sale helpful in many aspects,
but mostly because it serves as the official “how-to”
approach for working with other people, from the first
meeting to continued sales and profits; from figuring
out what I want and how to get it, to making a good
first impression, how to nurture customer relationships
and even the touchy subject of ending them.
If you are building a business that depends on the
value of your relationships, (and name me a business
that doesn’t)Romancing the Sale is easily worth a
fortune. It’s worth as much as you see yourself earning
because the first penny and the last penny starts with
the value of your relationships with your customers.
Think about it…for these reasons, I feel Romancing
the Sale is a no-brainer. Enjoy it. I did.

...this is one book you will not be able to put down until you
are finished
| Being somewhat new to sales, I continue to search
for good information on just how to do it in a way that
makes sense to me.
I have read the guru's material, and though I did
receive significant benefit from their teachings, I
wasn't sure it made sense for me and my personality in
all aspects. I kept hearing about the rejection as part
of the game and to just get over it. Sound familiar?
Right away as I read Romancing the Sale and closely
examined your take on this subject, a light bulb went
off.
I am so ultimately impressed. I'm such a visual
learner and when you give me a visual picture like this,
it hits it home for me. This is the most simple of all
the books I've been reading including "Natural Selling."
You've just hit it in my language.
Though happily married for many years, I have not
forgotten the "dating game". However, if you stuck it
out and got the "good one" as I did, each part of the
process was necessary and so worth the journey.
Overall, applying this to my business has become a
process for me; learning that breaking up doesn't mean
the relationship is over, just that there is no
partnership (as in marriage). My hunch is that even
people who are still in the dating scene could benefit
from your great wisdom and comparisons in this
manuscript.
To people considering buying this book:
Do you want to be free of the guessing game? Do you
want to know how to communicate and listen effectively?
Do you like visual comparisons to real-life experiences
to help you "get it?"
Then this is one book you will not be able to put
down until you are finished.
You'll find yourself comparing each part of the sales
and partnership process to Barbara's wise words as I do,
and see your success in building relationships in a
whole new light. I will add that you will find yourself
smiling and even laughing out loud at times as well.
The Action Steps have become a part of my training
program for my downline.
Thank you, Barbara, for putting together something
that has left a lasting impression in my thinking and
professional life. I'm "dating again." I give it a
"10"!

An essential handbook for those who want to become successful
entrepreneurs...

|
|
Barbara Silva has provided a fresh, humorous, and
innovative outlook in Romancing the Sale. By providing
the “how to” in building and maintaining a profitable
online business with the focus on creating sound,
quality customer relationships, she has clearly set the
appropriate course of action for her readers.
Her writing connects with everyday people and paints
a clear picture of the sales process, from attracting
qualified prospects, to making a good impression, making
first live contact to discover a prospect’s needs, and
setting up a time to educate them on solving their
problem. From my own experience, I have learned this is
critical to build a sound foundation of a live,
thriving, cash-producing business. The bottom line is
cash flow for keeping your business doors open. The
biggest challenge most new business owners have is
finding prospects. The answers are here within Barbara’s
book.
Barbara guides us into an effortless transition of
how to present our own business opportunity, while
continuously building and maintaining a prospect and
customer relationship. She provides good, sound, and
intelligent direction on letting go of a prospect when
they are not a right fit. Her easy manner and wit, and
excellent referral of essential training and resources
contribute to provide an essential handbook for those
who want to become successful entrepreneurs.
I highly recommend this book to those who want
sensible and easy-to-follow guidance to produce a
prosperous business.
Outstanding job, Barbara! And Colin’s creative

This book will take you step by step through the process...
| One word – INCREDIBLE! I wish I had had this eBook
in my library many years ago when I was first involved
in network marketing. It would have definitely been a
tremendous asset to my ability to connect and ‘romance’
my prospects! Where were you, Barbara Silva???
I love how Barbara compares the art of wooing and
maintaining a positive relationship with prospects to
dating and the courtship process. Too many of us jump
right into “marriage”, pitching our product or
opportunity, before even finding out what the needs and
desires of our prospect really are. This book will take
you step by step through the process and provides
excellent examples of what works and what doesn’t.
One of the tools she recommends that I have found to
be of exceptional value is the Genbook. The idea that
your prospects and clients can go to this website and
schedule time with you is worth its weight in gold. When
someone is able to choose the date and time that they
wish to meet with me over the telephone, it’s rare they
are a no-show!
Whether you are new to network marketing or a pro,
there is something for everyone in this book. I would
expect to pay much, much more for the information
provided in this book. It’s much less than dinner and a
movie with your date and the value will stay with you
through all your relationships!

Simply brilliant!

|
|
Just finished reading “Romancing The Sale” and I LOVE
it! An easy read, your thoughts flow simply and
elegantly from one to another.
In a light hearted way, Barbara forces us to confront
our deepest fears. Then she gently guides us to
solutions that are non-threatening and doable. I found
myself laughing or nodding my head in agreement over and
over again.
The tips on organizing your time alone are worth the
price of the book. By using the consultation tips I have
significantly increased the number of prospects I speak
with while reducing the actual time I spend on the
phone! Simply Brilliant!

...the A-B-C-D formula for time management is brilliant

|
|
I've just had a read of "Romancing the Sale" and I
think there's a good deal to be learned from it.
I personally found a whole lot of value in the ideas
of brainstorming ideas for my newsletter and email
autoresponder series.
This has been a major stumbling block for me, so
having the 'Action Steps' is fantastic.
I also liked the A-B-C-D for Dividing my time.I think
I've done everything except D and only a little time on
C.
I think the A-B-C-D formula is brilliant.
Thank you for your contribution to my success and to
the success of everyone who reads your book.

...were you hiding in my closet or what?

|
|
This book is truly delightful! Your son’s drawings
and your stories drive your point home in a painless
manner. You offer some real nuggets. No matter where we
are in are learning curve there are always gaps and it’s
great to have them filled in, in such a charming manner!
So, were you hiding in my closet or what?
I have my new to do list!
I think using a timer it a great idea; it’s made a
big difference to me.
I like that you give homework; action steps.
This is a simple, easy read for newbies and
insightful enough for those who are at the intermediate
level.
Becoming a solutions provider is a big paradigm shift
for network marketers coming online. Their previous
teaching gets in their way. I love Michael Oliver
(irenekirkman.com/tools) but this is nice and gentle and
a great place to start the journey to becoming a
solutions provider.
When I was told by my upline that you couldn’t hug a
computer I almost believed them.
And then I met you and several others of your
caliber. The abundance mentality that I have found
online has blown my mind.
I’m truly grateful to have you as a wonderful friend,
associate (we’re not connected in any way yet we can
work together! I LOVE that!) and as a mentor!
To your $uccess!
